DON BOIVIN Folk Singer/Songwriter

From the liner notes of "Songwriter":

"I think that most people want pretty much the same things; to be happy, to be loved, to be reasonably comfortable and secure, and, probably the most troublesome, - to feel worthwhile, to feel that one's own unique presence in this world is going to make a difference. Unfortunately, "society" today is nearly synonymous to "economy", where most of these basic, human needs have become so complexly linked to career, ambition, and money that the path to happiness can be a winding, confusing, and often disenchanting one.

I don't know the answers. I write and sing about this stuff because I'm living it. Singing about our troubles is a way to feel better, if only for a little while. I'm a folk singer, I guess, which only means that I sing about real stuff; life and love, simple things and complicated things (mostly simple), falling in love, getting divorced, getting fired, realizing that getting fired is the best thing that could happen, the pleasure of doing nothing all day, the very real need to do something to keep food on the table and the rent paid.

Here are some songs about real life. I hope they help somebody out there feel a little better. Let me know, and thank you for listening!"
